No worries if not
Lindsey Mendick
Life Story
Mendick draws inspiration from the painting of Francis Bacon to depict intense pain via the screaming mouth. The artist has shared that when she is in a really bad place, she no longer feels contained within her human body. Intense terror associated with the onset of panic attacks make her want to scream and erupt out of herself, as she feels untethered and un-human. This is a work about the fear of what lurks beneath. Directly inspired by Francis Bacon and the way he uncovers his internal struggles, darkness and relationship to death, No worries if not is an homage to his work and how fragile we can all become.
