‘You experience sculpture with your body’: LUNATRAKTORS respond to Dame Elisabeth Frink

More Information

Our SoundEscapes project helps to bring our world-class art museum’s collection to life, as some of the UK’s most exciting composers create new musical pieces which help capture the essence of a work of art in the Sainsbury Centre’s collection.

Hear from LUNATRAKTORS, a collaboration between choreographer and percussionist Carli Jefferson, and visually-impaired vocalist and researcher Clair Le Couteur. The duo’s trans-disciplinary practice investigates Anglo-Celtic folk heritage and decolonisation, working across sound, movement, costume, image-making, installation and film. LUNATRAKTORS are creating a sound piece in response to Dame Elisabeth Frink’s Mirage I and II, which live in the Sainsbury Centre’s Sculpture Park.

“This has been a wonderful experience. It’s clear the Sainsbury Centre and Sound and Music care deeply about art, and about people. This shared culture of respect makes working with both organisations so productive.”
