Influences on the abstract

The artist Mary Webb has had a long relationship with the Sainsbury Centre and UEA, going back to 1970 when the University acquired its first painting. Mary is one of the most important abstract painters of her generation and her work features in the new Sainsbury Centre exhibition Rhythm and Geometry: Constructivist art in Britain since 1951.
