Life Story
Numbers of miniature figurines have been found in prehistoric sites on St Lawrence Island and neighbouring areas (see Bandi, 1977: pls. 54-5, who attributes them to later in the prehistoric era). Their former use is not known. This figurine is carved from a mammal tooth, possibly walrus or beluga (white whale).
