Seated Buddha Amida
Life Story
This gilt bronze Buddha figure sits cross-legged on a wooden plinth. Wearing robes with numerous folds in the fabric, the chest area is bare. The right arm is raised with the palm facing outwards and the left hand sits on the lap. The facial features show arching brows, narrow eyes, an aquiline nose and small lips and the large ears have long hanging lobes.
The rear of this figure is open and hollow and the right arm is detachable, and held in place with a metal pin. A metal nail is evident in the right wrist, above which is a pierced hold in the left side of the fabric.
