Turtle-shaped bottle
Life Story
This bottle is composed of two circular domed halves which are joined together. Both the top and bottom of the bottle have been flattened. Four rectangular strips also join the two halves. A circular tube-like spout protrudes from one side of the top half. The top of the object has been decorated with an organic design enclosed within a geometric border. The bottom half of the object has been left plain.
The object is made from stoneware. Both the bottom half and the raised design on the top have been covered with a black glaze. The unraised areas and base of the object have been left plain and are light brown in colour. The glaze has run in places into the unglazed areas and some of the glaze on the bottom half has been wiped away. A number of scratches cover the surface revealing the natural colour of the material underneath.
