Space for Dialogue with Sonia Levy
Join us for this informal dialogue event, using Sonia Levy’s film We Marry You O Sea as a Sign of True and Perpetual Dominion as a stimulus for conversation.
About the artist:
Sonia Levy is an artist-filmmaker with a Berber-Polish background. Her work, marked by site-specific inquiries, delves into the implications of Western expansionist and extractive logics, exploring how these forces manifest in the transformation and governance of hydrosocial worlds.
She is an Associate Lecturer at the Royal College of Art, School of Architecture, convener of the collective How Like a Reef, and a member of the UN Ocean Decade Steering Committee on Connecting People and the Ocean.
This is part of a series of Connecting Oceans in Conversation events programmed by Sarah Wade and Pandora Syperek, supported by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.
The Space for Dialogue is part of a six-month season of interlinked exhibitions and events that explore the question Can the Seas Survive Us?
