In celebration of the Japan-UK Season of Culture, the East End Gallery presents Framing Nature to mark the occasion of the Tokyo Olympic Games of 2021.
Cibachrome prints from Nobuyoshi Araki’s Flower Rondeau series and Hiroshi Sugimoto’s black and white Seascapes and Dioramas are on show in Framing Nature. Sugimoto and Araki are two of Japan’s most celebrated living photographers. Obsessional in their exploration of the themes of life and death, they share an abiding fascination in photography’s ability to manipulate the viewer’s perception of time and reality.
